From the dedication poem, “I Can Hardly Wait to Show You”, to “Circular Square Town”, Frank Prem’s chronological journey from infancy to the present has a familiar feel to it; almost as if you were take a walk through your own memory lane to recall the innumerable small, but unforgettable moments that make up a life.

  1. Cage, thank you. It’s very lovely of you to re-blog this. Can I share a little tale from my endeavours yesterday selling books from the doorway of the bookstore? I will, regardless, because I’m still chuckling a little.

    The Border Morning Mail is the local big newspaper in Albury-Wodonga, and I had written to them a note a couple of days before to suggest nicely that they might like to interview me – and I woukd be prepared to write the interview for them if they couldn’t spare the time.

    One of the unsuspecting passers-by that I approached from my doorway nook at Dymocks to try to flog a book to (a beaut little stocking filler …) took a look at me and said:

    ‘You’re Frank Prem, You wrote to the newsroom to announce yourself. I’m a reporter from the Border Mail, and I’m the one that got your email. Now I’ve met you, I’ll be in touch.’
